Our dairy herd consists of Jersey and crossbred cows that are rotationally grazed throughout the growing season. At least twice a day, they receive a new area with a generous amount of lush, highly digestible grasses and legumes to consume. Besides all the pasture they can eat, the cows receive a small amount of grain that is balanced for their diet by our dairy nutritionist.
Our cows love to go out to pasture and graze, relax in the warm sun and sleep under the stars at night. In every pasture, we have a tank of cool water for them to quench their thirst. On hot days, we provide the cows a cool shady area under the trees in which to relax or we allow them to return to the loafing barn for shade and misty sprinklers spraying cool water.
