Price for the hog is $2.55 per pound based on hanging weight.

Processing is NOT included in price and will be added on.

Processing cost will vary between butcher's and what type of cuts, sausage, or smoking you want done.

Average whole hog starting (hanging) weight is approximately 180 - 200 lbs.

Price is based on the starting (hanging) weight of the hog before processing. Smoking, grinding, linking and slicing are not included in listed price.

Expect approximately 60-70% yield on finished pork depending on your cut choices. This is approximately 120-140 lbs. of meat and requires 12 to 14 cubic feet in freezer space.

Approximate number of chops, steaks, roasts, and sausage in a whole hog:

  • 30-40 lbs. of either fresh or smoked hams or ham steaks (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound)
  • 20 lbs. of either fresh or smoked bacon (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound and $0.25 per pound for slicing)
  • 6-8 lbs. of loin roast
  • 6-8 lbs. of shoulder roast
  • 50 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 20 pork steak
  • 8 lbs spare ribs (or meat can be put into sausage)
  • pork hocks either fresh or smoked (or meat can be put into sausage) (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound)
  • 20 lbs of sausage (pick up to 3 choices: Ground Pork, Mild Breakfast, Spicy Breakfast, Italian, Bratwursts & Kielbasa available) (can be put into patties or links for $1.00 per lb. extra)

Our next processing date for hogs is approximately September 2023. 

Allow approximately 2 weeks for processing. If you would like to order a whole hog, please contact us prior to September with your cutting instructions and to reserve your hog. ($100.00 deposit is required at time of purchase)
