Regenerative Farming & Soil Health Tour

Healthy Soil. Healthy Animals. Healthy Food. A Better Future.

Discover how farming can work with nature instead of against it!

Join us at Country Meadows Farm for an educational, behind-the-scenes experience exploring the exciting world of regenerative agriculture. Learn how our family is working to improve soil health, build more productive pastures, support healthier livestock, and care for the land for future generations.

Our family has been farming since 1879, and while we have always valued good stewardship of the land, our farming practices have continued to evolve. We began rotational grazing in 1996, and in 2019, after attending a Soil Health Academy workshop, we began placing an even greater emphasis on regenerative agriculture and integrating multiple livestock species into our farming system.

During this guided tour, you'll see firsthand how we use livestock as partners in building healthier soil. Discover how carefully managed grazing, living plant roots, natural manure recycling, and diverse pasture ecosystems can improve soil structure, increase water infiltration, encourage beneficial soil organisms, and help store carbon in the soil.

We'll explain how cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry can each play a role in a regenerative farming system and why we believe that healthy soil is the foundation of a healthy farm.

Your Regenerative Farming Experience Includes:

  • Rotational Grazing: Learn how moving livestock between pastures allows plants time to recover, supports healthy root systems, and encourages productive forage growth.
  • Soil Health & Biology: Discover the fascinating world beneath your feet, including earthworms, microorganisms, organic matter, and the living soil ecosystem.
  • Water Conservation: See how improved soil structure and ground cover can increase rainfall infiltration, reduce runoff, and help the land withstand dry weather.
  • Carbon Sequestration: Learn how growing plants capture carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and how regenerative management can help increase soil carbon storage under suitable conditions.
  • Livestock Integration: Explore how grazing cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry can contribute to nutrient cycling and pasture management.
  • Pasture Diversity: Learn why a healthy mix of grasses, legumes, and other forage plants can benefit livestock, pollinators, and soil health.
  • Our Family's Farming Journey: Hear how Country Meadows Farm has evolved over generations and why we believe regenerative farming is an important part of agriculture's future.
  • Questions & Discussion: Enjoy opportunities to ask questions and discuss practical farming methods with the people who work the land every day.
