Homeschool Family Day
Where Learning Comes to Life — Explore, Discover & Grow at Country Meadows Farm!
Take learning beyond the books and experience a real working family farm!
Calling all homeschool families! Join us at Country Meadows Farm for a fun, educational, and memorable day in the country. Discover where your food comes from, meet our farm animals, and explore the fascinating connections between agriculture, nature, and healthy living.
Our family has been farming since 1879, and we're excited to share our passion for agriculture with the next generation of young learners!
Unlike traditional school field trips, our Homeschool Family Day allows individual homeschool families to participate in a group farm experience without needing to organize an entire class. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to learn together, make new friends, and experience farm life firsthand.
What Your Family Will Experience
- Meet Our Farm Animals: Get an up-close look at our Jersey dairy cows, pasture-raised beef cattle, Berkshire pigs, chickens, and sheep while learning about their care and the important role each plays on our farm.
- From Cow to Milk: Discover how dairy cows produce milk, how cows are milked, and how milk becomes delicious products like cheese and butter.
- From Chicken to Egg: Learn about pasture-raised chickens, how eggs are produced, and the importance of proper animal care.
- Explore Healthy Soil: Discover earthworms, plant roots, soil organisms, and why healthy soil is essential for growing food.
- Regenerative Farming: Learn how rotational grazing, diverse pastures, and livestock integration help us care for the land.
- Farm Equipment & Daily Chores: See some of the machinery and tools used on our farm and learn what farmers do throughout the day.
- Hands-On Learning Activities: Enjoy age-appropriate demonstrations, educational activities, and opportunities to ask questions.
- Make New Friends: Connect with other homeschool families who share an interest in learning, agriculture, and the outdoors.
