Price for the hog is $2.59 per pound based on the hanging weight of the hog.

Processing is NOT included in price and will be added on.

Processing cost will vary between butcher's and what type of cuts, sausage, or smoking you want done.

Average 1/2 hog starting (hanging) weight is approximately 100 lbs.

Price is based on the starting (hanging) weight of the hog before processing. Smoking, grinding, linking and slicing are not included in listed price.

Expect approximately 60-70% yield on finished pork depending on your cut choices. This would be approximately 60-70 lbs. of meat and require 5 to 7 cubic feet in freezer space.

Approximate number of chops, steaks, roasts, and sausage in a 1/2 hog:

  • 15-20 lbs. of either fresh or smoked hams or ham steaks (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound)
  • 10 lbs. of either fresh or smoked bacon (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound and $0.25 per pound for slicing)
  • 3-4 lbs. of loin roast
  • 3-4 lbs. of shoulder roast
  • 25 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 10 pork steak
  • 4 lbs. spare ribs (or meat can be put into sausage)
  • pork hocks either fresh or smoked (or meat can be put into sausage) (smoking is an additional $1.10 per pound)
  • 10 lbs. of sausage (pick 2 choices: Ground Pork, Mild Breakfast, Spicy Breakfast, Italian, Bratwursts & Kielbasa available) (can be put into patties or links for $1.00 per lb. extra)

Our next processing date for hogs is approximately December 2024.

Allow approximately 2 weeks for processing. If you would like to order a 1/2 hog, please contact us prior to December 15th with your cutting instructions and to reserve your 1/2. ($50.00 deposit is required at time of purchase)
